Students, research & scholarships
Supporting the next generation of food scientists through presentation opportunities, networking and recognition.
Student development
Historical Oklahoma research symposia gave undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to present oral and poster research, meet industry professionals and compete for awards.
IFT’s broader student ecosystem also supports student chapters, professional development and scholarship programs.
What students could gain
- Oral and poster research presentation experience
- Connections with food-industry professionals and researchers
- Exposure to technical topics and applied food science
- Recognition through awards and fellowships
- Pathways to IFT volunteering and professional membership
Stanley E. Gilliland Memorial Fellowship
Later FAPC symposium reporting records recognition of recipients of the Stanley E. Gilliland Memorial Fellowship in Food Science. This restoration includes the fellowship as a historical student-support reference without asserting that applications were processed directly through the old domain.
